2. Rules Use the lab only when directed by the teacher.
Follow instructions (both written and oral).
Do not touch anything until instructed to do so.

3. No eating or drinking.
Tie back long hair.
No loose clothing, open toed shoes or dangling jewelry.

4. No horseplay, jokes or pranks are allowed
No horseplay, jokes or pranks are allowed. You must exhibit responsible behavior.
You are responsible for cleaning up your station or work area.
Stay at your assigned station. Do not wander around the room.

5. Do not taste anything!

6. PPE Personal Protective Equipment

7. Accidents Notify teacher of any accident, injury or spills.
Do not handle broken glass…teacher will clean it up.

8. MSDS Material Safety Data Sheet
Sheets for each substance in the lab will be in the notebook.

9. PASS
Pull pin
Aim at base of fire
Squeeze handle
Sweep back & forth
Fire extinguishers have about 15 seconds of powder…if this doesn’t work…evacuate!

10. Know where to go in the event of an accident…take action!!!

11. Where to go: ABC Fire extinguisher (by the door)
Fire blanket (back corner near fume hood)
Goggles (white cabinet)
Eye wash station (Front, near American Flag)
Shower (Front, near American Flag)

12. Contract
Student laboratory safety contracts must be read by the student, and then submitted before you can participate in labs.
No exceptions.

13. Emergency procedures:
Fire drill: Take a right in the hall, go downstairs, stay together outside
Tornado: into hallway, face locker & squat down
Lockdown: girls at front of room; guys behind lab tables…everyone SILENT
