› The history dates back to the days of the famous king of Mesopotamia, Gilgamesh. It is said that a friend of his died in battle and appeared to him. Some say they have saw their ancestor while in their house. Nobody knows what to believe, so that is why it is a mystery. › There are tales of ghosts almost all over the world. For example, London has many tales of ghosts that roam the Tower of London. There are tales of ghosts in Pennsylvania, including places like St. Vincent and Gettysburg.

 What is the mystery?  How did it come to be?  Who or what is involved?

 St. Vincent college is said to be the most haunted place in western Pennsylvania (putting aside Gettysburg). Boniface’s ghost is said to be seen inspecting the changes to his campus’ growth in St. Vincent.  One story that is hard to believe in my opinion is the hitch-hiker ghost. It is told that every year the teenager is seen on the road. The driver gives her a lift. But before the driver gets to where she lives, she disappears!

 One theory (if you don’t believe in ghosts) is that it is the persons mind. Say that your grandma died and she has been on your mind. Suddenly, you see a faint figure which resembles her. You are seeing her simply because you are seeing her. Or you are seeing a ghost because you want to. Another theory (if you do believe) is they are made up of a chemical left from a body called ectoplasm.  One ghost sighting, (the girl in white) is proven to be a hoax. If you do see a ghost and anything that leads to be a hoax, chances are it is.  One sighting that could be believable is the woman in brown. At the same place, people see the same figure. My personal mystery is the footsteps in the playroom. It could’ve been a mouse, but the tapping I heard was a steady beat.

 I truly believe in the paranormal activity of ghosts.  Even since ancient times there have been sightings of spirits since past. Plus my friends and I think we have had an encounter with a ghost or demon.  I support this side of the argument because so many people have claimed to have seen spirits of the dead, there are just too many sightings out there for me not to believe in ghosts.
