2 Horizontal Method! The distributive property can be used to multiply a monomial and a polynomial. Example -2x 2 (3x 2 -7x+10) =-2x 2 (3x 2 )-(-2x 2 )(7x)+(-2x 2 )(10) =-6x 4 -(-14x 3 )+(-20x 2 ) =-6x 4 +14x 3 -20x 2
