Hurricane Katrina/How Would You Respond to a Disaster You have now viewed interactives showing the extent of the damage caused by Katrina and the response of the government to the disaster. If you were currently may or of a southern coastal city and you received a report that a substantial hurricane was on its way, how would you react? a)I would prepare to evacuate the city as soon as the national weather service alerted me that the hurricane was on its way. After Katrina, no one can be too careful. b)I would wait to evacuate the city until it becomes 100% clear that the city is really in trouble. It is important to examine the details of each situation before panicking, since not every situation is the same as Katrina.
