4  What do believe are qualities of a joyful, affective Writer’s Workshop?  Avon Grove School District Writing Beliefs We Believe…  In building a strong community of writers who engage in daily, joyful writing in an encouraging atmosphere.  Writing is a recursive process and should be purposeful and authentic.  Writing should be taught and practiced daily.  Writing should be integrated across the content areas.  Writing develops and demonstrates critical thinking.  Writing instruction should be explicit and grounded in best practice  Writing should be scaffold across the grade levels.  Writing instruction should provide students opportunities to write for a variety of purposes and audiences.  Instruction should include student choice and application to real life.
