2 How do you make moral decisions? Imagine the boat is sinking but you can only save one person on the plastic buoy. Who do you take, your mother or your wife? How did you come to that decision?

7 What is the bible? Bible: Holy book of Christians with 66 books split into the Old Testament and the new testament.

11 Why do Christians use the Bible in making moral decisions? The Bible is the Word of God, thus the Bible is God’s guidance to humans The Bible contains God’s teachings on behaviour. The Decalogue (10 Commandments) give Christian’s clear moral guidance The Bible contains teaching of Jesus on how to live and records events in Jesus’ life. Christian’s often ask themselves how would Jesus behave in a situation The Bible contains letters from the Apostle St Paul to the early churches which explain how Christians are to behave Christians believe that only the Bible is authenticated by God thus they can be sure their moral decisions are approved by God

13 Although all Christians accept the authority of the Bible, they do not agree about how important it should be. Other Christians believe that the bible was written by humans and so is only a guide for making moral decisions. They think the bible needs interpreting to fit what the world is like today Some Christians would use the Church to tell them what the Bible means for today Other Christians would use their own conscience or reason whether to follow the Bible in making a moral decision in the C21.
