1 Revealing who God is – He’s Incomparable

2 Psalm 40: 5 (TNIV) Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.

3 Psalm 8: 1-4 (TNIV) LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

4 What’s God really like? Exodus 15: 11 (TNIV)
Who among the gods is like you, LORD? Who is like you – majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Psalm 86: 8 (TNIV) Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours

5 Psalm 89 (NIV) Verses 6-8: For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. Who is like you, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

6 Psalm 89 (NIV) Verse 18: Can you compare God to anything? Can you compare him to an image of anything? Verse 25: God, the Holy One, says, “Can you compare me to anyone? Is anyone equal to me?”

7 Isaiah 40: (CEV) Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

8 Everlasting Faithfulness
Jeremiah 31: 3 (TNIV): The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Psalm 103: (TNIV) But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children – with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.

9 Can we really be like God?
2 Corinthians 3: 18 (NIV) And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit We are being transformed

10 Points to Ponder Let’s recognise who God is
