5.  1.Multimedia: Students learn better from words and graphics than from words alone.  When relevant graphics are added to words, learners select and connect both materials, contributing additively to learning.

6.  2.Interactivity: Students learn better by manipulating the materials rather than by passively observing others manipulate the materials.  Interactivity encourages the processing of new information by engaging students in an active search for meaning.
