3 Business Boom: Automobile Industry The Impact of the Automobile –New roads built – Route 66 –Houses with garages –Gas stations, repair shops, motels, tourist camps, shopping centers –Farming families have easy access to cities –Vacation in new places –Contributing to urban sprawl (cities spreading outside the city center)
