2 INCENTIVES - PURPOSES 2 Motivate Increase efficiency, productivity & creativity Recognize/reward performance & contributions

3 MONETARY AWARDS 3 Quality Step Increase (QSI): Accomplished on DMNA Form 32 General Schedule (GS) only Expect performance to continue Performance Maintained for 12 Months Appraisal Score of 4.51-5.00

4 MONETARY AWARDS 4 Sustained Superior Performance (SSP): Accomplished through DMNA Form 32 Exceeds position’s requirements Performance maintained at least 6 months Appraisal Score of 3.51-5.00

5 MONETARY AWARDS 5 Special Act or Service Award: Accomplished through DMNA Form 32 and Narrative Awarded for heroism Awarded for one-time act or service Awarded for Scientific achievement

6 MONETARY AWARDS 6 On-The-Spot Award: Accomplished through DMNA Form 32 In addition to QSI, SSP or other Special Act Award Awarded for significant acts related to quality job performance Acts of short duration & clearly identified with a Narrative $250 Max per issuance up to 4 per year.

8 MONETARY AWARDS 8 Inventions: $100 in addition to any award under Suggestion or Special Achievement $300 upon award of patent categories Can be thousands of $$$$ when tangible

9 NON-MONETARY AWARDS 9 Time-Off Award: Accomplished through DMNA 32 and a Narrative Established June 1992 for special act or service Up to 40 hrs per contribution; no more than 80 hrs in 1 leave year

10 NON-MONETARY AWARD 10 Length of Service Award: Awarded to NGB Technicians and other Government employees for distinguished service Eligible after 10 years of service Awarded in 5-year increments

11 PAYMENT OF AWARDS 11 Monetary awards will be paid from Base Federal Funds Paid as early as possible after approval Taxable Income

12 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 12 Match type of recognition to situation Ensure timely, appropriate presentation Exercise care in considering recognition
