2   On April 6, 1966 the first commercial satellite was launched. They orbit the earth and transmit signals for cellular phone companies, television cable companies and internet providers.  in conjunction with the launch of commercials satellites, computer technological advances launched the age of information. New computers were invented to reduce the size of computers from the size of an entire room to the size of a T.V. set. Improvement in computer language allowed computers to become more accessible.  Douglas Engelbart invented the first computer mouse. Technology

3   The 1960s featured a number if diverse trends, it was a decade that broke many fashion traditions, mirroring social movements during the period. In the middle of the decade, box shaped dresses, culottes and go-go boots were popular. The widely popular bikini top became into fashion in 1963 after being featured in the musical ‘Beach Party’.  The Beetles had a great impact on young men’s fashion such as outfits and hair styles.  Breast implants were invented in the 1960s Fashion

4   At the beginning of the 1960s, pop and rock and roll trends of the 1950s continued, the rock and roll from the decade before started to merge into a more international, eclectic variant known as rock. By the mid 1960s, rock and roll in its purest form was gradually overtaken by pop rock, blues rock and folk rock which had grown on popularity. Music

5   Moon landing in 1969, Apollo 11 was the space flight that landed the first humans, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon July 20, 1969, at 8:18pm.  Armstrong became the first man to step on the lunar surface 6 hours later on July 21 at 2:56am. Armstrong spent about two and a half hours outside the spacecraft Aldrin slightly less.  Together they collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material for return to earth. Major event
