2 64th IHC Action Ite ms –23 New Action Items 11 items closed by incorporating changes into NHOP –New format for NWS Public Advisory and TCU products –Extend issuance time for NHC watches and warnings –Changes to HDOB message format –Add Military Support to Civil Authorities (MSCA) terminology –“Post Tropical” terminology introduced; refinement of “remnant low” terminology –Updates to Chapter 6, satellite information –Numerous edits to update and correct Action Item Review

3 –23 New Action Items (continued) 6 informational items –CPHC makes wind field graphic and graphical TWO operational –Experimental Probabilistic Storm Surge Exceedance Product –Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale introduction –Hurricane Coordination Hotline administration –Dropwindsonde Processing and Archiving of the Data (AOML/HRD) 1 item recommendation not accepted (Hurricane Portal-- however, NHC will add Firstgov.gov as a link to their site) 1 item pending decision from RA-IV (replace “Greek Alphabet” with secondary Atlantic TC name list 4 items worked during IHC Action Item Review

4 64th IHC Actions Items (continued) –4 items worked during IHC Agree on 15 July 2010 as switchover date for HDOB message format; include both formats in Appendix G (on schedule) Airspace use during TC missions (OPEN) –Small team (Miami/Jacksonville ATC, 53 rd WRS, and NOAA AOC) drafted proposed update to NHOP to allow participating NOAA and TEAL aircraft to maintain their own separation while operating in controlled airspace Clarification of what altitude aircrews are cleared to fly in reference to ATC airspace structure (MSL, AGL, or FL) Proposed change of eastern boundary from 55 o W to 52.5 o W (OPEN) –May include in MOA Action Item Review

5 Old Action Items –Change in organizational name from TPC/NHC to NHC (OPEN) –Update of MOA (OPEN) NOAA / NWS coordination / signature complete DOD now staffing through Joint Staff to USNORTHCOM –Will be formally staffed and tracked –Caribbean Hurricane Awareness Tour (CHAT) (OPEN) NHC and 403 OG / 53 rd WRS will explore options regarding CHAT and HAT –May include in MOA –AXBT requirement (OPEN) NHC will review and expects to endorse Form team to work funding mechanism (OPEN) –Two items CLOSED Sea State vs. Significant Wave Height terminology Products in GIS format Action Item Review
