Characteristics: - Open, flat, empty landscape - From North to south river ‘Eem’ - Small villages at boundaries of the project en near river ‘Eem’ like: - Eemnes - Eemdijk - Eembrugge - Bunschoten - Spakenburg - Hoogland - Huizen - Baarn

Eemland Characteristics: - Very religious people - Influence of the Southern Sea (in the past) - many floods in the past - last: 1916 - because of floods: “waaien” (holes made by the swirling sea) - near “waaien” very productive earth - Old ditches/watercourses (exploitation about 1100)

Eemland Consolidation by land development plan: re-allotment based on a public plan with an agricultural claim (voting by land-owners) 1. Agriculture (better situation very necessary) 2. Nature 3. Recreation

Eemland - Agriculture -97 % of total area Eemland is grassland, used for cows (meat- and milk-production) -Bad situation: reallotment very necessary: A lot of owners have parcels on both sides of river Eem -Farms near river Eem and near villages also INSIDE the villages

Ferry: important for owners; more times a day crossing the river with tractor, cows, milk etc.
