2. Refining objectives 1. Fundamental definitions, concepts and development of adaptive management mechanisms for marine eco-tourism (criteria). Determine marine tourism activities that favour conservation criteria and generate socio-economic alternatives. To determine the most appropriate criteria for evaluating the effects of marine ecotourism practices in reserves (carrying capacity and/or LAC) Development and testing of these models with appropriately designed and defined indicator categories Elaborate and implement efficient, cost-effective monitoring and evaluation protocols (integrating biophysical, socio-economic, user perceptions and governance metadata) 2. Explore cost – benefit and reciprocation mechanisms wrt conservation values - with more emphasis upon social and economic interdependencies.
