1. DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS Auditions for this year’s musical “EVITA” are just around the corner, the last week in October. This is going to be a big awesome show and we need tons of singers, dancers and actors. If you are interested in auditioning please come see Mrs. Rhodes in room 506 so that she can add you to the KF Audition page in Blackboard. This will give you access to more information and audition materials. If you have not turned in a parent permission form, please do so ASAP. Klein Forest Theatre department will be presenting Picasso at Lapin Agile this coming Friday, Saturday and next Monday night. This is a very funny comedy written by the former Saturday Night Live star Steve Martin. Tickets will be available during all lunches every day this week for $6 or at the door for $8. Don’t miss this fun live theater performance. Girls’ Basketball will be having try-outs for the upcoming season on Thursday, October 22 at 2:30 pm in the downstairs gym. In order to tryout a physical must be on file with the athletic trainers.

2. DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS This Saturday, 11 KF Choir members competed at the TMEA Region 9 Region Auditions hosted here at Klein Forest. This audition was the second of four rounds of competition that lead to membership in the Texas All- State Choir. Christina Hoang and Jamie Nguyen competed and are members of the Region 9 Treble Choir. Valerie Carillo was named an alternate to the Region 9 Treble Choir and Emma Schermerhorn competed and made the Region 9 Mixed Choir. Emma will also advance and compete at the third round Pre-Area auditions in the Woodlands on December 3 rd.Congratulations to all of you that competed on Saturday. The KF Swim Team competed in a dual meet with Aldine Sr High School Thursday Oct 14. The eagles finished in 1 st place in all 3 boys and all 3 girls relay events. Freshman Alicia Spencer finished 1 st in the 200 individual medley. Helen Ngyuen finished 1 st in the 50 free. Tram Le and Breana Ho finished 1 st and 2 nd in the 100 breaststroke. On the boys side, Kevin Williams finished 1 st in the 50 free. Samuel Gentempo finished 1 st in the 100 backstroke. Max Bradford and Bryan Ho finished 1 st and 2 nd in the 100 breaststroke. Christian Garza finished 1 st in the 200 individual medley AND 100 butterfly. His fly time was a lifetime best time and qualified him for the TISCA Invitational at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in November. The boys won the meet 162 – 115 over the Aldine Mustangs.

TUESDAY, 10-20: Congratulations to the Klein Forest Orchestra! 9 students were accepted into the 2015 Region 9 Orchestra. In Symphony Orchestra: Jackson Hitchens-Violin Carissa Boak, Alonzo Garcia, and Alicia Hollis-Cello In Philharmonic Orchestra: Dylan Lee and Elizabeth Nguyen-Violin Andrew Nguyen-Cello Summer Chester and Julieann Nguyen-Bass Jackson Hitchens qualified to tape for All-State Orchestra in 2 weeks. Congratulations to all the KF Orchestra students who participated in the audition process. We're so proud of how your represent yourselves and your school. SENIORS!! In order to allow you to be a part of the drawing for purchasing your yearbook, the senior class officers will be collecting dues at all lunches on Wednesday as well as Friday this week.
