4 Careers and Employability And… careers information, vacancies and part time jobs through Job Shop Access to Business Bridge placements and work shadowing opportunities career guidance software online resources and vacancies via IBIS Careers events as they arise during: Personal Development Weeks Graduate Head Start Other graduate fairs Campus visits by employers Travelling desk Information about the first destination of previous graduates

5 Careers and Employability Additional support for departments: Targeted group sessions at each academic level - Input from induction onwards Support for postgrads Integrated delivery with WBL Subject open day leaflets with case studies Careers resources including subject website lists

6 Careers and Employability Students encouraged to gain employability skills through: WBL / EL Jobshop Business Bridge Work shadowing Volunteering and mentoring Effective use of vacations Use of E-portfolio Other pt qualifications

8 Careers and Employability Monitoring outcomes through DLHE: 2007 leavers: 87% response rate 92% into employment and/or further study Benefits of DLHE - informing students/staff/potential applicants

Work with your Career Link Tutor or programme leader to plan package of support Promote careers events and vacancies Provide update on course changes/devts Provide useful case studies Refer students when necessary Encourage students to use the service as early as possible
