1. Georgia Cooperative Extension and the Distance Diagnostics through Digital Imaging system (DDDI) The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Consortium for Internet Imaging and Database Systems (CIIDS)

2. The DDDI system allows agricultural producers who are remote from diagnostic resources, to rapidly receive evaluation and recommendation about problems affecting their products. Trained field personnel (e.g. county agents) assigned to various remote areas (e.g. counties), collect information and digital images from producers, then using a Web form, submit those data via the Internet. Diagnostic specialists automatically receive e-mail notification of problem submissions, then access information and images for evaluation from anywhere Internet access is available. Diagnoses are added to submitted Web forms and resubmitted to the system. Then an e-mail is automatically sent to the original submitter, including the evaluation and any associated recommendations and comments. All information and images are archived for documentation and later review as desired. Basic Description
