What Do You Remember? Hockey Canada

2 Instructions: Upon completion of the Modules on Positioning and Procedures challenge the students to see how much they remember. You Have two options on how you can use this evaluation method. Quickly show each slide for a pre-determined period of time. - Within the allowed time have the students will write down responses to the questions asked. - After the allotted time frame review the correct responses - Students will self-evaluate. 2. Follow the above procedure. Do not show the answers. Have the students evaluate each others papers (Peer Evaluation) - Provide a de-brief period at the end of the exercise. The students must use this time to review any mistakes they have made. This again can be completed through Peer Teaching

3 Face Off Procedure Players Position (5)
Centers feet behind restraining lines. Toe of stick touching ice in designated area. Stick not moving Other players feet outside circle Body and sticks on-side.

4 Fight Procedure Common Faults (4)
Not ensuring the players go to benches or neutral zone. Poor vantage point. Not remaining at fight location during equipment pickup Too hesitant to issue Misconducts to player that are slow/refuse to go to benches.

5 Line Change Procedure Common Faults (6)
Late to start No eye contact Too nonchalant Incorrect timing Too mechanical Lack of enforcement.

6 Linesman Positioning Covering for the Referee (5)
Front linesman follows the same route to the net as the referee Back linesman moves up to cover partner’s blue line. Signal for no goal – no signal Signal for goal – point to net Return to blue line on arrival of the referee

7 Penalty Calling Procedure Common Faults (7)
Not stopping before assessing penalty Not giving 2 signals if assessing 2 penalties Coming to close to penalized player Lack of composure Using intimidating words, signals, gestures Grandstanding Unassertive voice or signals
