Inventions To invent is to create through independent investigation, experimentation, and basic brain power. Inventions can be nearly anything and can come as a result of a moment of ingeniousness, a solution to a problem, or as a development from years of research.

Protecting your invention is key! Patent Is a grant of property rights to the inventor, issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The right to exclude others from manufacturing, offering a sale or selling the invention in the United States or “importing” the invention to the United States. This patent only works in the United States, so if you wanted to sell a product in a different country you would need to work on getting a Patent from them.

Types of Patents Utility Patent Protects processes, machines, manufactured items, or compositions of matter EX: Medicine, electronics

Types of Patents Design Protects new, original, and ornamental designs for manufactured items EX: athletic shoes, automobile body
