6 6 P&E Meeting Key Notes Current professional membership is 28,755, down 1% from last year Dues increase took effect 1 May 2010 Discussed possibility of an ITAR session in 2012 Obtain more interest in industry in attending JPC. JPC has been criticized for lack of real content like is seen at JANNAF ScholarOne, used for the first time at this JPC was widely criticized at the meeting. AIAA personnel indicated that they will work with ScholarOne to address the concerns and that improvements to the system are continually being made

8 2009 JPC SRM Highlights Theme: Insertion of Innovative Technologies into new and evolving systems  15 sessions with 61 papers Special sessions dedicated to the 70 th birthday of Dr. Ken Kuo Special panel discussion on Tactical Missiles Session Chairs and co-Chairs from TC Special thank you to Russ Ellis for abstract content review and Butch Foster for providing the historical videos that add continuity within the sessions!  Need to bring videos every year due to paper withdrawals, cancellations, etc. Suggest tracking rationale for abstract withdraw: schedule, sponsor approval, etc. 8

Best SRM paper selection process completed and provided to AIAA for presentation at awards ceremony at 2010 JPC  “Comparison of Nozzle Throat Erosion Behavior in a Solid-Propellant Rocket Motor and a Simulator,” Brian Evans, Kenneth K. Kuo, Eric Boyd and Andrew C. Cortopassi AIAA Paper No: AIAA-2009-5421 Educational road show kits still being requested and sent out – the requests never stop – get yours today!

10 10 2009-2010 SRTC Highlights and Accomplishments (cont) Held SRTC meeting at 2010 Aerospace Sciences Meeting in Orlando Conducting SRM course in Nashville this Thursday and Friday Providing support to Purdue student for JPC attendance  Registration fees Continuing to promote membership upgrades within SRTC and maintain dynamic and broad membership population  Two members upgraded to associate fellow in January 2010 –Karl Naumann and Michel Berdoyes

Continue to collect old and current films and videos for archiving at Auburn University  Approximately 20 16mm films were sent this year from ATK Elkton archive for digital transfer
