Energy Savings Assistance Program Workshop # 2

Increasing Energy Saving Efficiencies SCE modifies 2012-2014 Portfolio Proposing power saving surge protectors as a new measure Projects to install approximately 208,500 power surge protectors 1,876,500 kWh savings Install CFLs in over 90% of homes An estimated 500,000 additional CFLs / 8,000,000 kWh in additional savings SCE projects that to replace 3,850 single-speed pool pumps with new variable-speed units 6,494,860 kWh Savings

Overall Efficiency Strategies Overall Efficiency Strategies Tablet PC Technology Offers the ability to validate information in “real time” thereby producing efficiencies in the delivery of program services. Increases contractor efficiencies No confidential documents taken from customer Reduces end-to-end cycle time Reduces program carbon footprint Joint Electronic Enrollment Form with SCG Reduce time to enroll customer Uploaded directly to both utilities’ databases

Overall Efficiency Strategies Overall Efficiency Strategies Energy Education on Tablet PC Used to suggest topics that will have the biggest impact on a household’s energy consumption Information captured on tablet drives energy education Access internet to leverage other SCE programs Direct Connect – Automated Outbound Calling Allows customers to be directly connected to service providers Ability to focus on specific targeted segments Automated Outbound Dialing Scripts Customized scripts designed to specific customer segment Multiple language option

SMART (Schedule Manager and Routing Tool) Provides proximity-based scheduling of jobs, mileage and time calculations, and route maps to and in between appointments Decrease crew members’ windshield time Reduce contractor operating costs Save on gas consumption Decrease program’s carbon footprint VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) Ability to communicate via email, SMS, and VRU Leveraged with SMART Opt-in to be reminded of upcoming appointments Ability to cancel or change appointments “real-time” Remind customers of scheduled maintenance Overall Efficiency Strategies Overall Efficiency Strategies
