1 Due Thursday, June 7. No late projects will be accepted. If students will be out on Thursday they need to hand their projects in early

2 You will select a topic (chapter) from the book. You may not select a chapter we have already covered. You can pick whatever chapter you think is interesting. You must pick the topic today, May 31 or you will loose valuable work time. Share the book and choose quickly 2 minute max per person I will make a copy of that section and give it to you on Friday, June 1. This project is self directed You may work with a partner. The project is worth between 100-200 points

3 Read the chapter and prepare a report poster for the topic in the chapter The bigger and more detailed your poster, the more points you get. Exceptional work can receive extra credit (up to 50 points max!) Typing your text instead of writing is a good way to get extra points. Poster must be on one side only. You will have time to work in class but materials will be limited. (poster board can be purchased at jewel, dollar store)

Main Idea, Supporting Details What is the main idea of your chapter and what detail support it? 3. Important People (3-5) List 3-5 important people from your chapter and explain why they are important 4. Important Events/Concepts (3-5) List 3-5 important events or concepts and explain why they are important 5. Cool Stuff List 3-5 facts from your chapter that you think are cool. 6. Connections How do the people or events in your chapter connect to our world today?

7 3. Important People (3-5) Cesar Chaves: Important leader of the country, helped poor people and immigrants gain workers rights. Another Person: stuff about that person.

8 I will work with you in class on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday to help you decide what to write DO A DRAFT! Save money and time! Don’t write on the poster. Print and paste what you want. Make sure what you are writing is correct (check with me) before you paste it on the board Remember late work is due on Tuesday, June 5! If your poster does not meet the requirements you will receive less that the allotted points
