Ayia Napa is a resort at the far eastern end of the southern coast of Cyprus, famous for its sandy beaches. In recent years, apart from being a family holiday destination, it has become a "party capital" with Ibiza, Rimini, and Mykonos. As of late, it has become particularly popular with the familiar UK-originated music such as dub step, drum and bass, grime, house, and garage artists. Many people around the world travel to Ayia Napa to visit this famous after party which goes on until the early hours in the morning.

The night life in Ayia Napa is very varied and offers something for everyone. Gone are the days when the only music you would hear was UK Garage. Whether you want to enjoy a cocktail in a trendy lounge bar, be entertained by a comedy act, listen to a live band or dance in clubs till dawn. Big name artists and DJ's from all over the world play to packed events each summer.

The bars on and around the main square in Ayia Napa start to fill up around 11pm and this is where the music is loud, sitting down is a no-no and the atmosphere is electric. Expect dancing on the bars, lots of exposed flesh and plenty of flirting. Ayia Napa is a sexy place in the summer and the hours of midnight until 4 am is when things get hot. The busiest spot for 2011 was the stretch from Bedrock down to Fly Bar where people spill out of the bars onto the streets. Other hotspots are in the square where Marinella holds court and the bottleneck between Bazaar Bar and Napa Eden bar where people spill out of the bars onto the street.

The clubs in Ayia Napa open around 1am and close about 5am. There are club nights, special events and international superstar DJ's on every night from June through till August and plenty of things going on in the other months as well. If you're still going strong after 5am, there are 2 after clubs to carry you through till around 7 or 8 am. River Reggae and Aqua both have pools so you can go from night to day with little effort.

Ayia Napa Boasts 14 Blue Flag beaches which from East to West are Konnos Bay, Kermia, Ammos tou Kambouri, Glyki Nero, Pantachou, Loukkos tou Manti, Katsarka, Pernera, Vathia Gonia (Sandy Bay), Nissi, Nissi Bay, Lanta, Macronissos and Agia Thekla. Most of the beaches in this area have lifeguards available during daylight hours from April until October. All have noticeboards at the beach advising of availability of lifeguards, warning flag systems and locations of other facilities such as toilets and showers. Many also have tourist facilites such as snack bars and watersports.

Nissi Beach is the most popular beach in the Ayia Napa area and probably the most well known on the island of Cyprus. It is made up of 2 connecting beaches, one long and lively, the other smaller and quieter. The beaches have golden sands and the waters are clean and clear. It is possible to walk out for up to a hundred metres without the water passing your waist and there are many sand bars in the shallows. A variety of watersports can be enjoyed including pedalloes, parasailing and inflatables. Nissi means small island in Greek and there is indeed a small island which during the summer can be reached by walking through the shallow water. During the spring it is possible to walk over without getting wet feet.

Ayia Napa is Greek for "Saint Napa", the patron saint of the town, whose Venetian-era monastery is in the centre of the town, next to the square which today is clubbing central... Located in the far eastern end of the Cypriot Republic, adjacent to the UK Sovereign Base, Ayia Napa has become synonymous with clubbing on the island, having made a transition in recent years from a popular, all-ages family holiday destination to a "dance party capital", similar to Ibiza in Spain. In particular, it has become popular as the summer holiday destination for followers of London's UK Garage music scene (British tourists are by far the most prevalent here, as elsewhere on Cyprus). Beyond the clubbing, however, Ayia Napa attracts tourists world-wide on account of its fun-loving (some would say, totally hedonistic) outlook by night and its sandy Mediterranean beaches by day.

Here are some real opinions of people that stayed in ayia napa: If you stay here make sure you put all your valuables in a safe i belive the cleaner stole money shoes and a pandora bracelet from my suitcase. The pool area and rooms are filty would definatly not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!! Also We arrived in May the hotel was just starting to open all its blocks of apartments, we were the first in one block which had its own pool. The room was like most apartments abroad, basic but will all the required facilities, 2 single beds, basic kitchen, bathroom with shower and balcony overlooking the pool. The pool area was clean but the bar was boarded up. The main block has a pool and poolside bar that was open but busy. The reception area and bar was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The evening entertainment was good if you didn't want to go very far and the bar food was good. Spot on location for everything. 5 Mins walk to the square and 5 mins walk to quieter bars and restaurants. If you do nothing else while you are in Ayia Napa you must try a Meze at Tonys restaurant, which is just down the road from this hotel. Turn right as you come out of the main entrance and it is just there on the right with a blue coloured terrace of tables with vines/plants growing all around (be careful not to miss it!).
