1 SSD’13 Organization The tenth edition of the International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices will be co-organized by the University of Sfax, Chemnitz University of Technology, Zwickau University of Applied Sciences and Philadelphia University. SSD’13 will be held on March 18 th through 21 st in Hammamet the first tourist destination in Tunisia owing to its irresistible beaches and warm temperature. General Co-Chairs Moez Feki ICOS-CEM Research Lab, Engineering School of Sfax, University of Sfax Faouzi Derbel Chair for Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Zwickau University of Applied Sciences Power Electronics for Renewable Energy Systems Special session organizers: Dr. Kouzou Abdellah & Prof. Abu-Rub Haitham. Contact e-mail: kouzouabdellah@ieee.org; haitham.abu-rub@qatar.tamu.edukouzouabdellah@ieee.orghaitham.abu-rub@qatar.tamu.edu Description: Rrenewable energy sources such as photovoltaic, wind power, fuel cells, thermoelectric, etc. are attracting more attention as a major alternative contributor to the global grid power, micro-grid power, and to the autonomous stand-alone systems. Indeed, these sources require proper interfacing based on power electronics systems. Such interface connections have to ensure the performance of high stability, high efficiency, high reliability and security of the supply, voltage control, active and reactive power flow control, high protection, low electromagnetic emission, low cost and low volume. Accordingly, this special session aims to focus on the recent research and trends for the development and application of different power electronics converters used as an interface with renewable energy source technologies. Aims and Scopes ( include but not limitted): 1- PV grid connected systems; 2-Fuell cells grid connection systems; 3-Multilevel converters dedicated to renewable energy systems; 4-New converter topologies dedicated to renewable energy systems; 5-New converters control methods dedicated to renewable energy interfaces; 6- Matrix converter dedicated to renewable energy interfaces; 7-High power converter dedicated to renewable energy interfaces; 8- Converter modeling techniques dedicated to renewable energy interfaces. Paper Submission:. Papers submitted to SSD’13 should be written in English and limited to six pages. Paper format and styles (LaTeX and MS-Word) are available for download at the conference website (www.ssd-conf.org). Submissions should be done electronically through the EDAS website http://edas.info//N10635. PLEASE INDICATE THAT THE PAPER IS SUBMITTED TO THE SPECIAL SESSIONS ON Power Electronics in Renewable Energy Systems.
