4 Clear writing exercise- all together I don’t know what to say, but Shane came into the house and he said he wanted a drink. He then yelled at someone to they came and gave him what he wanted. I left the room because I was so angry with him. He followed me out and I said to them that he would be trouble tonight and to stay away from him. I was right as soon as I left their was trouble all right. They told me he was terrible, yelled and threw stuff around the room.

5 Example 2- for you to do Bruce was crazy, yelling and spitting at everyone. Man he was wild. I bet if I got close I could smell stuff on him, he is such a drug user. I could see he had stuff on his nose, looked silver, like paint. He yelled all night and the others just stayed in the office, they are so scarred of him. I went out and told him to behave and had one last yell and left the house.

6 Client profile an example Client female, 73 years old Client has early onset dementia (she can recall her childhood, but often forgets what she is doing and where she put things, she is beginning to forget who people are that she has met) Client lives at home with her husband Client has attended a recreation service established for people with her condition to help stimulate their mental and physical activities.

10 Session task Create a check list for yourself that would be useful in thinking about your client’s presentation ie: Thinking clarity –Can they answer questions appropriately –Is their conversation easy to follow, makes sense –Do they keep to the topic they are talking about

11 Role play 1 You are an emergency housing worker and a client has come to find housing for tonight. You have 1 Emergency Bed left and you need to assess whether the client is Drug affected Emotionally stable enough to be housed in the service tonight

12 Write up your role play How client presented What client wanted What you were able to offer Any other issues Outcome for tonight Further action Other issues
