2 Intel Confidential 2 Adult Digital Learning program POSITIONING statement Technology integration in all aspects of our lives has made digital literacy essential to a person’s sustained economic self-sufficiency. Adults in underserved areas around the world find themselves at a disadvantage due to lack of access to proper training on the basic use of computers. Additionally, to maintain a productive and competitive workforce, government bodies and NGOs are frequently looking for ways to provide digital literacy to their adult population. To support the efforts of these government organizations and NGOs, Intel has created simple instructional courses and materials that help adults become competent in the digital world. The offerings are based upon adult learning research that make learning practical and relevant. These courses are flexible and can be delivered in informal or formal education settings (ex: kiosks, vocation training at community center/colleges, employer training, shared access centers). Intel provides a no-fee license to the content to governments and NGOs, who manage the local implementation.
