2. Objectives Students will be able to understand progressivism on the national level AND evaluate and defend their positions about the roles of political parties, campaigns, and elections in American politics.

3. Warm Up For the next 5 minutes I would like for you to analyze this picture and tell me in a short paragraph on a piece of loose leaf the: ◦Symbols ◦Tone ◦Features ◦Etc. This will be collected!

4. Classwork For the next 10 minutes you and a partner (that you don’t have to move for!) will work on the worksheet using one of the two provided documents.

5. Review Let’s go over them now!

6. Homework Read Chapter 28 and 29 for 2/24 Decade Charts for 1890-1940, Spanish American War, WWI and WW2, election charts- working on over the course of the unit, due 3/17 Cartoon Analysis- one the back side of the worksheet you will see another cartoon write a short essay discussing who or what each candidate might have been nervous about – due 2/23
