Weathering and erosion can be tough concepts for students to understand. With this experiment we really take a close and hands-on approach to see exactly what is happening to different types of rocks as water and wind weathering and erosion occur!

Weathering is the breaking down of rocks on Earth’s surface into smaller pieces. There are two types of weathering, physical and chemical weathering. We focus primarily on physical weathering; such as wind, water, temperature, living things, lightning, etc.
