2 Commissioner This section is for users with the Commissioner role on their smartcard. Commissioners will be able to commission services for individual GP/referring practices to refer to. Individual Practice Level Commissioning Commissioners will now be able to copy commissioning rules from one organisation to another Copy Commissioning Rules Commissioners will have the ability to set a period of time, after the service is decommissioned, to ensure any referrals already in the system can be managed Commissioning Rule End Date The content of the Help function has been enhanced. Enhanced Help Function Worklists will now automatically print without a preview being displayed. Changes to Printing Worklists Click on the heading of any item for a fuller description

3 Commissioner – New! Individual Practice Level Commissioning In NHS e-Referral Service commissioners will be able to commission services at practice level. Commissioners will be able make a primary care menu services available to one or more selected referring organisations. After logging into NHS e-Referral Service, and finding the appropriate service in the usual way, commissioners will see a new field (*Application Organisations), which will list all the GP/referring practices available to them. Commissioners can select or de-select individual practices as required. NB – the default position is that ALL practices under the ‘parent’ organisation (e.g. CCG) will be ticked. Back to list of changes Benefit: This will benefit commissioners who cover a large geographical area.

5 Commissioner – New! Commissioning Rule end date In NHS e-Referral Service commissioners will be able to commission services to ensure the referrals can be managed right up to the end of the contract date The commissioner can set the ‘from’ and ‘to’ dates for the Effective Date Range for the Contract. During this time the service is available to their referring organisations They then can set a ‘Commissioning Rule End Date’ to allow any referrals, already in the system, with this service to be shortlisted and managed No other referrals can be shortlisted to this service, but referrals with this service on can still be managed through the system up to the ‘Commissioning Rule End Date’ Back to list of changes

6 System Help content Help Files are being developed for NHS e-Referral Service, which will be: similar format type to other online systems (eg Microsoft) and are in place of a manual accessible via a Help link at the top of the screen written in a user friendly way, giving diagrams, process flows and benefits as well as direct information The first release will be simple, but effective and something to build on. To access the Help Files you simply click on the Help text at the top left of the screen (as highlighted below). The following screens show how the Help is coming together so far. 9 Commissioner – Printing Worklists In Choose and Book a preview of the worklist appeared before the user selected the ‘Print’ button. In the e-Referral Service the ‘Print’ button has been renamed ‘Print List’. Selecting this will now display the Print popup box and no preview.
