Frequently asked questions Clinic - Questions and Answers CLINIC Overview: The clinic program offers lessons in basic skating and hockey skills for all first year players 4 to 10 years of age. All coaches at this level are volunteers and must have a valid Initiation/Level 1 Certification from the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program to be on the ice. Both boys and girls will be required to begin in this program. Is there a preseason parent meeting? Yes. The meeting is on Wednesday, October 13th at 7 pm. The meeting is going to be held in the North Campus cafe. The purpose of this meeting is to outline the goals for the upcoming year and a parent or guardian is expected to attend this meeting. When does clinic season start and finish? Clinic sessions will begin Saturday, November 6, 2010 and run through Saturday, March 5, 2011. Times for Clinic sessions will be reviewed during the parent meeting. How often do the clinic kids practice? Once every Saturday. There will be two sessions this season that includes both boys and girls. Both sessions will be held at the Hippodrome on Saturdays and will be one hour in length. Can clinic players participate in the mite skill camp?: No. Each player must start out in clinic. Can you move out of clinic and up to mites or u8's? Most seasons, a small number of clinic players will be asked to play on a White level Mite or Girls U8 team to fill out those rosters. The decisions for these move-ups will be determined by the Director of Player Development, Mite Coordinator, Girls Director, Girls Coordinator and Clinic Coordinator. No children born after July 1, 2005 will be moved up into the white level. This process will be complete no later than the third week of clinic. What is the last day to sign up for clinic? December 31st, 2010

We are going to host three open skates for the clinic players and others who are interested in playing the game.
