2. Part 2: Calculating the angle of insolation at noon 1.Measure the number of degrees of latitude separating that location from the latitude that is receiving direct vertical rays (90°). Record as “Relative Latitude”, and be sure to pay attention to N or S. 2.Then subtract that value from 90° to calculate the angle of insolation.
