4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 ILD Detectors Design N.S. ETH-Z, January 2009. Conceptual view of Push-Pull IP Garage

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 False floor modules to compensate platform height Towers for near-by services Services On IP Two Experiments, two positions

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 ILD 1 Beam Pipe position ILD Service position Services False floor modules can be rearranged to modulate working space disposition in garage position Two Experiments, two positions

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Tentative horizontal separations

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Increased lateral space to work on muon system by shifting one false floor module muon Valve box Dewar and local services

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Design N.S. ETH-Z, January 2009. Possible Cavern radius (~14m) Crane 18m An effort has been made to reduce the radius of the Underground Hall

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 We have played on three parameters to try to reduce hall diameter 1 2 3 Height of supports Crane clearance Pillar for Q0

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Q0 Pillar shifted connection by flexible lines 4m Simple opening in garage position using last Matthieu’s drawing Design N.S. ETH-Z, January 2009.

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Q0 recessed in endcaps 4m Design N.S. ETH-Z, January 2009.

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 2 m Design N.S. ETH-Z, January 2009. Q0 recessed and Central Barrel shifted 6m

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 2 m Design N.S. ETH-Z, January 2009. 6m Small alcove allowing to decouple Q0 from endcap Top view

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Advantages of platform for push-pull operation The use of a platform is well adapted to ILD sectioning and construction. With the use of airpads and indexing system, this should allow a millimetric repositioning. The presence of the platform can be taken advantage of to isolate the experiment from seismic events and from surrounding vibrations.

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 The CMS plug is good example of a platform rails 22 m 2m thick 2000 tons PLUG

4366-ILD-T-Platform-and-environment.ppt A. Hervé Seoul workshop 17 February 2009 Example of anti-sismic supports that could be installed below the platform
