Caved in to pressure by Jews 19:12-16 Jews hold over Pilate (Procurator of Judea AD 26-36) (1) Army staffs with Bust of Caesar seen as idols by Jews (2) Aqueduct built with Temple money (3) Shields with Emperor’s name hung in Herod’s Palace-ordered removed by Tiberius (4) Tiberius was a suspicious Emperor dealing harshly with disloyalty 3. Jesus – achieving sovereign purpose 19:10-11
