5.  Gothic Romanticism emerged in England during the time of Colonial America (Gothic Romance)  Gothic literature merged with Romanticism to form Gothic Romanticism in the mid 1800s (Butcher)

6.  Ideas such as haunted houses, and ghost rides  Today’s literature such as horrors and romantic love stories are derived from Gothic Literature  Stephen King’s novels  Nora Roberts (De Vore)
