The Bureau of Justice Assistance is a component of the Office of Justice Programs, which also includes the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the National Institute of Justice, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the Office for Victims of Crime. 4 4 Working on SPI Action Plans  “Action Plans” are now a SPI staple  Current sites should consider adopting a similar format  Action Plans will serve as a guide for this meeting  Sites review their original proposals (or current plans) in light of information discussed at this meeting  Sites teams work on existing plans  Sites present their work toward the end of Day 2 4

5 5 Working on SPI Action Plans  Describe the problem, the data and analysis that led to its identification;  Describe the strategies and tactics planned (to date) to address the problem;  Develop a logic model that identifies the resources, activities, outputs, and short- and long-term impacts anticipated;  Include an impact evaluation plan; 5

6 6 Working on SPI Action Plans, cont’d  Ensure that the research partner is included in all project phases;  Demonstrate executive support and commitment of agency resources to the project; and  Address issues of integration and sustainability. 6
