1) Energy can not be created or destroyed 4 The ball is raised, gaining potential energy (E = mgh) The potential energy was not ‘created’ It came from the energy stored in the muscles

2) Energy can be transformed from one type into another 5 The potential energy of the ball transforms into kinetic energy

3) Energy can be transferred from one object to another 6 As the first ball collides with the others, it stops. The ball at the end moves off at the same speed as the first. The kinetic energy has been transferred.
