Making Movies: Summer Technology Camp

Uploading Videos 1.Upload them FIRST to a folder on your computer. 2.Disconnect the camera. 3.Open Windows Movie Maker. 4.In the “task pane”, choose “import video”. 5.IMPORTANT: when you upload video, UNCHECK the box that says break movie into clips! You probably don’t want this.

Shooting Good Video DON’T rely on your hands to be steady. Always look for ways to make the camera more steady. Use tripods, monopods, etc. DON’T zoom and pan much at all! Your movie will take on the “roller coaster” effect very quickly. Hard to watch! DO look over AFI materials to help you decide on the angle of your shot. Be creative!

Rule of Thirds Check out the video on this page: http://jharding.weebly.com/digital-photo- apps.html Even though it is about photographs, many of the same ideas apply for shooting video.

Saving a Power Point Slide in WMM Click on this link and watch this video: TURN A POWER POINT SLIDE INTO A JPEG Once you turn it into a JPEG, you can import it into your collections for use in your movie.
