3 Netiquette WHAT IS IT? n Set of rules for proper behavior among people on the Internet.

4 WHY USE NETIQUETTE? n Internet can be a great source for learning and games but there are rules for safety.

5 *Rules for Netiquette* n Never put last name, address, password, phone number, school name, hometown, photos of yourself, your location at a given time or day n If someone tries to contact you on the web, notify a parent or adult immediately n - Share with your parents what websites you visit and tell them why you visit them n - Nothing you write on the Internet is private n - Never meet your “online” friends in person n - Make sure to think before you post. You always want to posts to be appropriate and non-offensive n - Only use websites that your teacher tells you to use n - Do not use bad words

9 Plagiarism  When you use someone else's words or ideas and pass them off as your own.  Latin for “kidnapping”  Kidnapping is stealing a person  Plagiarism is stealing a person’s ideas or writing.
