1 Thematic Networking CITY-M: Creative, Innovative and Transferable Methods in the Training of Teachers and Training Staff (Formal and Non-Formal Education)

2 Project objectives Establish an inventory of Comenius, Grundtvig and Leonardo projects (centralised and de-centralised projects funded since 2007), dealing with the education and training of teachers and training staff Identify from the above-mentioned inventory a set of best practices in terms of creative and transferable methods for the education and training of teachers and training staff.

3 Project objectives Compile a kit describing in more detail the selected best practices (creative and transferable methods). The kit is not only meant to be an inventory of best practice, but also to make available as much relevant information as possible to teachers and training staff with a view to a) helping them in their continuing professional development; b) helping project reach more end-users and thus exploit their results.

4 Project objectives (2) Identify the lessons to be learned and transferred from these projects and: Make recommendations to decision makers for integrating results of projects into national, regional, local policy or practice. Make recommendations to the Commission for the future of the programmes

5 State of play Kick-off meeting: 18 February 2010, Madrid Currently, preparatory stage: gathering info about projects that will receive our questionnaire asking them more about the creativity/innovation and transferability of their methods

6 Agenda 2010 Partnership meeting: Koln, 22-24 June (partner NAs + educational experts): elaboration of a questionnaire meant to draw more information from projects; elaboration of criteria to select best practice from among the projects responding to the questionnaire

7 We need your help! In the coming weeks, you will receive requests for help from the partner NA responsible for your country. We will need your help in identifying de-centralised projects dealing with methods for the training and education of teachers and training staff (project reference and title, coordinating organisation and contacts, partner organisations, summary – LLPLink) We thank you in advance for taking the time from your demanding tasks and helping us with this!
