Thank you for coming to Samsbiblestories.com and for taking a look at the lessons I have added. These lessons are the result of years of teaching Sunday school at an Elementary level. God has richly blessed me in being able to share His Word with thousands of young people. It is now my privilege to share them with you. Please feel free to use them with your class, wherever God has planted you. The only think I ask is that you drop me a line and let me know who you are and how the lessons are working for you. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. samueldselby@gmail God Bless you, Sam God Bless

16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune- telling. Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” 18 She kept this up for many days. Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her. Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities.

22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. (Then they put them in prison.) Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

That night Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns to Heavenly Father. Everyone in the prison heard them. Suddenly the ground began to shake. The prison shook, and the doors of the prison opened. Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

The guard woke up, saw the open doors, and thought that the prisoners had run away. Paul told him that all the prisoners were there. Knowing that God had made the ground shake and the prison doors open, the guard knelt by Paul and Silas and asked how he could be saved Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

Paul and Silas taught the guard the gospel. They left the prison and baptized him. They also baptized his family. Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40

Then Paul and Silas went back to the prison. The next day the leaders set them free, and Paul and Silas went to another city to do more missionary work. Hangin’ Tough (Paul and Silas in Prison) Acts 16:16-40
