2 1. Acute A sharp or keen sense of something.
Ex: You could say you had an acute sense of hearing if you could hear everything.

3 2.Conceived Thought of Ex: I conceived the idea of teaching The Tell Tale Heart around Halloween because it is a spooky story.

4 3. Vex To disturb or annoy. Ex: It would vex me to hear people talking while I was talking.

5 4. Stifled Smothered Ex: I felt stifled by the lack of air in the airplane.

6 5. Crevice A small crack Ex: I could only see a small part of the room through the crevice in the wall.

7 6. Stealthily To do something cautiously or secretly.
EX: I tried to stealthily take one of the cookies from the jar, but the lid crashed to the floor and gave me away.

8 7. Audacity Shameless daring or boldness
Ex: She had the audacity to ask me for $200, even though she already owed me money.

9 8. Vehemently To do something with intense emotion
Ex: I asked vehemently to be allowed to go to the movies but my mom still said ‘No’.

10 9. derision To ridicule or tease
The constant derision from her friends made Jenna decide to find a new group of friends.

11 10. Hypocritical False or deceptive, like a person who is pretending to be what he or she is not. Ex: It seemed hypocritical of her to tell me to save my money as she was out shopping.
