6 Reproduction Definition:
the process by which we establish a new stand of trees. Examples: Reproduction can be obtained by two methods: natural regeneration - seedtrees artificial regeneration - seedlings B.

7 Growing Definition: practice used to control composition and growth
Example: Thinning is a primary method used to control the composition of the stand as well as improve growth in the stand. C.

8 Protection Definition:
forests need protection from wildfires, insects and disease in order to get maximum growth and yield at harvest time Example: prescribe burns pesticides

9 Harvesting Definition: cutting trees for sale
The harvesting of a stand of timber can start with the thinning of a young stand to improve growth and generate income. The final cut is made when the stand has matured and reached its maximum growth and income potential for the landowner. E.

10 Marketing Definition: process to find best price for your timber
This is the phase of forestry where product utilization can bring the highest income results from managing timber. Proper harvesting, and delivery of these products are an absolute necessity to good forest management.
