2. What will we learn? In applied science we will explore the following areas:  Force and Motion  Energy and Energy Conservation  Electricity and Magnetism  Properties of Matter (color, shape, volume, density, and texture)  Common Chemicals  The Environment  The Human Body

3. Learning by doing As often as possible, we will learn about these different areas by performing experiments, building models, and using computer research.

4. Expanding our vocabulary!

5. Methods of Scientific Enquiry We will learn how to form a hypothesis, perform an experiment, and draw a conclusion. We will also learn about the parts of a microscope and how to use one.

6. Introducing Biology We will also begin to explore the subject of BIOLOGY. As a sophomore, you will take biology, so we will learn some basic concepts in preparation.

7. Let’s plan to have some FUN, FUN, FUN while we learn about science!
