2. Ch. 9-11 Discussion  Who is Tom Robinson? How does Atticus defend what he is doing for him?  Why do Scout and Jem have “mixed feelings” about Christmas?  Atticus says: “It’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” What reasoning do we get for this from Miss Maudie?  Scout starts to feel that Atticus is too old and questions if he can do anything. What secret talent does he have? What does his keeping it a secret show about him?  Who is Mrs. DuBose? What is the importance of the alarm clock? What lesson do Scout and Jem learn from her death? Why, in Atticus's view, was Mrs. Dubose “a great lady”?
