Accessing Information: Cataloguing Guidelines for Manitoba and Saskatchewan School Library Personnel:  aligns with international and national cataloguing standards  provides information and examples for cataloguing including the introduction of RDA standards  lays the foundation for an effective division-wide library service  allows for sharing resources or integrated projects.

4. During the past two years extensive consultation included:  working groups of library professionals in both provinces  research and writing by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education  input from a variety of professionals in the fields of school libraries, RDA, and cataloguing.

6.  More effective and efficient school library services will enrich learning and teaching experiences for students and educators.  Consistent library catalogues support information literacy for transitions from PreK-12 to post- secondary.  The guidelines promote consistent library service practices throughout the province and use of common language.  High-quality data ensures a functional integrated library system (ILS).  Accessible bibliographic data opens communication with other libraries including public libraries.
