2. What is Menspace? Health For All – specifically Menspace works to assist people in particular communities of interest to overcome barriers to participate and access to services. Menspace engages men and boys in a variety of positive activities in addition to dads groups including horticulture, organising community festivals, growing vegetables in the allotment and fishing. It’s a project which helps men lead healthier, more fulfilled lives and encourages them to get out into the community and make a difference. It gives the dads an opportunity to take their children to fun activities without worrying about cost. It’s also partnered with ‘The Bridge’ (a group which organises walks with participants with learning disabilities).

4. Things to consider/potential problems Filming- are the men happy for us to film? How can we help make it a relaxed environment? Maybe we need to meet them without equipment to build a more genuine relationship? How are we going to film the walk- walking with a camera will be shaky so we need to think of an alternative, possibly getting ahead of the group and setting up the camera on a tri-pod? What is the most relevant information to put in the 3 minute edit. Do we need to create 2 versions? We need to consider our audience when conversing with people to ensure we don’t offend anyone

5. Our aims: Our group wants to focus on the dads group, which includes the dads cooking club and walking group. We want to spend time with the groups before filming so we can get to know them and so they are comfortable in our presence while filming. Our film is designed to capture a feel of the groups, possibly with a few short interviews with some of the members in order to promote the Menspace project.

6. Filming Plan Jan 18 th - Go to meet groups, no equipment 21 st - meet walking group (1pm) 23 rd - Film monthly cooking group (5:30-7:30pm) 25 th - Film dads group (am and pm) 28 th - Film walking group (1pm) Feb 1 st – Film Dads groups (am and pm) Feb 12 th - Tetley feast deadline
