Job was a good man

Satan and God had a conversation Job only worships you because you’ve blessed him with riches and family. If you take it away he will stop worshipping you.

Raiders have taken your oxen and donkeys and killed the servants looking after them

Fire has fallen from the sky and killed your sheep and servants

Raiders have stolen your camels and killed your servants

A mighty wind has destroyed your son’s house, all your children have been killed.

Job was distraught “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I shall depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised”

Satan and God had another conversation Job only worships you because he is fit and healthy. Take away his health and he will not worship you.

Job became very ill, his skin was covered in sores

Job’s wife said “Curse God and die” Job said “Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?

Job had three friends

Eliphaz – ‘You must have done something bad – God is disciplining you’

Bildad – ‘If you plead with God he will restore you’

Job questioned God Why?

Zophar – You are too proud, who do you think you are, to talk to God?
