2 About The Author Henry Reed was born in Birmingham, England on February 22, 1914. Attended the University of Birmingham. Well-known as a poet, translator, radio dramatist, and journalist. Drafted into the Army in 1941, worked as a Japanese translator. Died in December of 1986.
