7. Summarizing Ethics Ethics matter at each stage of the research process. Ethical research practice applies to the participants of a study, the social group being studied, and the body of knowledge to which the findings are contributed. Human subjects approval is designed to protect human rights from unethical studies like those at Tuskegee and Stanford.
