Excel is a wonderful tool to create forecasting models, and other charts for a business, but it wasn’t designed to keep track of your day-to- day activities. End Show NextTitle PageBack According to Core Concepts of Accounting Information Systems: Entry-Level software is for smaller businesses who have revenue <$5 million, but up to 20 employees, and SMB software is for sales up to $100 million, up to 100 employees. Since you are just above the $5 million mark, we recommend that Cabin Fever use entry-level software to begin with. Doing this would allow all employees to become familiar with the technology while your company grows. When you either employ more people or earn revenues over $10 million you can graduate to the next level of software if you feel your business is ready. Accounting Software from our list used for entry-level businesses are: Peachtree and QuickBooks. We recommend using one of those programs. While Quicken is inexpensive and a wonderful program, it may be too small for your business, but could very well be the best possibility. More research is needed to be sure.
